Yong Tau Foo.

Can I just say, its SG's cheapest Yong Tau Foo?!
10 pcs for $1.50 if you go without the noodles,
if not it's $1.50 for 7 pieces and a portion of noodles.
Unfortunately, prices were increased to 40 cents per pc/ $1.50 for 4 pcs as of this year.

Ingredients are fresh, soup is tasty. What more can I ask for?
one place for those budget conscious like me! haha.

Streets of Chinatown

Thinking of what to have for Tea Break ???

Just outside Chinatown Mrt

Ta Pau $1.50 ( is really huge!)

The ever-long queue of KOI bubble tea

Caramel GlassJelly Milk Tea $3.50 (M)

The
Pau with veg filling was absolutely delicious. You just cant stop munching after having your first bite on it. One of those for a hungry couple satisfied our tummy totally! The famous KOI bubble Tea lived up to its expectation thou it costs nearly to 1 @ Coffee Bean but is worth it! 70% sugar is perfect!

What's For Lunch, Mum?

Hello, there! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
I shall let BF blog on our food feast on Saturday(26june2010).
As for Sunday, I stayed home for lunch before hitting the gym.
Mum decided to home cook one of my favourite dish:
- Fried Sesame Chicken...
Deep fried with "goreng pisang" flour and white sesame seeds.
But who cares, so long as its nice, right?! but how excellent it was?
I ate 6 of it!what you think? haha.
Though I would still prefer the fish version. :)

Homecook Fried Sesame Chicken.

# It really give a different taste and smell.
# If given the chance, I able to eat more than that..
cos the meat is soft, juicy and the crust is way too crunchy on the outside.
#just the picture itself will give you that mouthwatering feel.

SECRET RECIPE @ T3
Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Secret Recipe has cheesecake, cheesecake and more cheesecakes.
Lets start off with their signature cake, "the MARBLE CAKE", with smooth creamy backed on crunchy oat nut base.

It's tasty for a light, quick dessert that is sure to please the majority who love cheese like I do.
A slice of cheesecake will cost you around S$4.80 per slice and a whole cake goes for S$45.

Marble Cheesecake $4.80

Oh, did I mention that you must try their chicken cornish ($5.20) too? hmm paying $5.20 for a Chicken Cornish (Original / Spicy) is quite pricey. However, after taking a look on the food price in their menu, it was actually among the cheapest food that you can find.

Chicken Cornish $5.20

It looks like our curry puff but a bigger version. I ordered the original one. It taste a bit like curry puff but with more carrot bits. With generous amount of fillings, it was satisfying. If not so, at least it is worth the money.

Secret Recipe is well known for their cheesecake and cakes, which means you should never try their main courses, especially their salad! Had a pretty bad impression on their salad. aww, so sorry to mention that. And well, I’ll stick to their cheesecake/Mango cake.

Rating: 3.25/5 Marble cheesecake

Indian Delicacy !!!

Tandoori Chicken

Butter Chicken $5

Palak Paneer $7

Garlic Naan $2

Hariyali Kebab $6 (6pieces)

Recently we had this Indian craving. Today, we made our way down to the famous Bukit Timah Al Ameen for dinner. The best dishes were the garlic naan and butter chicken. The naan dipped with gravy combination was simply amazing. As for the Palak Paneer, it is a mixture of spinch, onion, cheese and tofu cubes. It seems tasteless and we were expecting something much better and explosive judging from its appearance. For $7, it is definitely something i don't recommend ordering. The Hariyali Kebab is green pieces of chicken which are marinated in mint chutney. The appearance was great but still the taste of it were like any other average BBQ chicken.

Rating: 4/5 Butter chicken, Garlic Naan
Rating: 1/5 Palak Paneer
Rating: 3/5 Hariyali Kebab

Best AMK soon kueh!
Friday, June 18, 2010

The translated Chinese name of this dish is 笋粿. This is a steamed Chinese dumpling made of rice flour skin with chopped turnips strips as filling. It can be eaten steamed or fried, with sweet dark soya sauce and chilli paste. But we still prefer the original taste of it without the sweet sauce. As mentioned in our previous entry, here's a snapshot of the Best soon kueh we ever tried!

$3.80 for 5

Location: AMK S-11 right beside AMK hub.

Saturday, June 12, 2010

Opening at TEKKA CENTRE

Soya Glassjelly $1.20 / Pepp Soya $1.50

Tou Sha Kuek $1.30

Veg Kuek $0.80

We kick off our journey to Tekka Centre which is opposite Sim lim Square. We had Tou Sha Kuek, Veg soon kuek, Peppermint soya and Soya glass jelly our brunch over at Tekka hawker centre. The kueks we had were delightful especially the one with the stuffed veg inside. It was refreshing and light inside our mouth ! BUT its more expensive in term comparing the size of it to others. AMK S-11(beside AMk hub) soon kuek is rated the no.1 in singapore by Miss Bun. The AMK ones are extremely huge and extremely crunchy ! It is definitely an mouth watering experience. We are hoping for some ice-chilled soya drinks but it turn out otherwise. Drinks were not that cold, taste were below average as well. :(

We went back Sri Kamala Vilas Restaurant which is just beside Tekka hawker Centre for dinner. We had our double combo Thosai !! These are the best thosai we ever had. The price is reasonable and is extremely filling. The chill and the curry sauce were delicious. The scent of the amazing indian curry was in our mouth for the whole night. BURP !
